when you dream of your pefect dining room set up, what do you prefer?

matchy matchy? (table and chairs matching)
crate and barrel

or mixing up textures and colors?

(my favorite image of them all!)

right now, i am in love with mixing it up. i don't think i'm as drastic as putting belino chairs with a rustic trestle table, but i think a little mixing brings some interest to the space. one way i LOVE doing this is getting more grand chairs for the host and hostess seats.

martha stewart

for one client, i dream of having these chairs around her mecox table....

this is where i wanna be

leslie klotz designed this hampton cottage that is to DIE for! it was featured in the house beautiful magazine. i have actually pulled images of it before, but never realized that all the images were from the same home. it is HEAVENLY!
charming as can be...

the different warm tones come together in this odd but amazing grouping of objects.

don't you LOVE this birch bench? it is found in a guest room. i love the symmetrical artwork too.

this quilt was found at brimfield. can't wait for july 13th to roll around!

i love the chinoiserie headboards! the red paint on them and the lantern really pull the room together.

this bathroom would be sure to brighten your day every morning1 i wouldn't mind waking up to this!

the navy paint is used as a great accent. it really broadens the space against the white woodwork.
loving the trellis as always. also, do you notice that lovely lamp in the background? christopher spitzmiller! remember this post?

i love the black door (drama, drama, drama!), the deer head, and monkey print. who said a kitchen had to have a rooster?

the kitchen is so clean and simple! the lack of upper cabinets makes it feel more spacious.

that coffee table is UNREAL! it is so light to the eyes... perfect for this light room. and no rug? that's interesting. i think i would throw one in there to warm the room up, but it does look nice and clean without it. can we talk about the striped chairs? i want them, i need them, oh baby, oh baby!

and. HELLO! it doesn't get any better than this! chartreuse, chartreuse, chartreuse. my goodness! these louis XVI chairs are beautiful with the leather on front and coral/cream cotton on the back. i really LOVE these! the sea horses were found at her local garden antique store. how FUN!

this cottage is a dream come true. the colors, the finishes, the fabrics, the furniture... everything is beautiful and vibrant. the space is used so wisely and the mix of different styles is perfectly balanced.

well done, leslie.
i would love to move in right about now.

ps. is the hardwood OAK? i' going to look into that. it's breath taking!
